Several months ago, Tonya Kubo — she runs marketing and operations around here — had me write the following on a Post-It and place it on my monitor:

“I am a trendsetter…I see things before anyone else sees them.”

I wouldn’t say this is universally true (have you seen my wardrobe?). But thanks to her perspective, I’m seeing it IS TRUE in the world of business.

Over the past several months, I’ve sat in workshops, read books and listened to podcasts presenting “new and fresh” ideas that I’ve been sharing with clients for years.

Before Tonya’s Post-It directive, I never noticed how “new” or “refreshing” ideas I held as truths were to others. Concepts presented as innovative weren’t new to me.

So rather than sit in the back of virtual rooms with my arms crossed, muttering, “I already know that,” we’re launching a podcast to bring all of these ideas and concepts to light.

It’s not about staking a claim on any one idea. It’s about having important conversations early and often in public view. When we know better, we do better.

A podcast for women who want sustainable, aligned success

So, it’s with great pleasure that I announce our new podcast, The Business You Really Want. Co-hosted by Tonya and me, it’s the show for women who are ready to build a sustainable, fulfilling business aligned with their values.

The trailer just dropped, and I hope you’ll take two minutes to listen/watch and share within your networks. Launch Week is Aug. 13, and we have between now and then to build up initial momentum for the show.

Though I trust Tonya to manage the marketing side of things, here’s what I’ve learned so far:

  • Trailer downloads and listens make a big impact in how a show’s initial episodes perform.
  • Subscribing to the show now on your podcast player of choice and YouTube ensures you never miss an episode when it lands.
  • Reviews and comments matter — If you’re checking it out on a platform that allows either, please let yourself be heard.

You can find the show on YouTube, Apple, Spotify, and Goodpods.

In keeping with the goal of having important conversations in public view, please let us know what you think about the show and if there are any questions or trends you’d like for us to address.

Between Tonya’s experience in marketing and mine in operations, there isn’t much we don’t know at least a little about. And if we can’t answer, we’ll make sure to connect you with the best person who can from our combined networks.

Here’s to building the business you really want!
